NCCF ZAMFARA : RURAL RUGGED EXPERIENCE 2012

RURAL RUGGED EXPERIENCE AT DOKA
Rural Rugged is the evangelism unit that was specially designed by the Nigerian Christian Corpers Fellowship. This unit is
aimed at spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ through the “word” and “humanitarian” services. Any corps member who
has served without having an experience of Rural Rugged could have been said to miss a great deal.
The just concluded Zamfara State Rural Rugged is an exception I need to share among folks. The evangelical trip which
was proposed to kick off on the 30th day of August to 1st September 2012, became a reality when corp members across
the state came together in love; irrespective of qualification to embark on the long-awaited Rural Rugged to DOKA… This
is a remote village whose inhabitants are mainly subsistence farmers. The road from MADA to DOKA was full of
undulating contours and pathway waters. The truck that conveyed us was an old one that if not for the grace of God, I
don’t think we would have escaped mechanical faults because of the terrain of the road. The trip became so stressful to
the extent that none of us was able to sing praises; all that echoed time-to-time was JESUS! FEAR of accident became
paramount. But in the midst of those dark moments, God’s light was able to guide and protect us to DOKA. When we
arrived DOKA in the still of the night (12:23am), we thought the settlers were already asleep, unknown to us they were all
eagerly awaiting our arrival. As we passed, we greeted them in their native dialect, “INA YINI” which means, “GOOD
EVENING” and they all answered “LAFIYA”, which also means “FINE”. After a short while, we were taken to our respected
huts which served as temporary accommodation for the time being.
DOKA is an Islamic settlement where the message of Islam is only accepted. Imagine! But God still instructed us to go
there for mission work. I still remember vividly the two Islamic slates we met in the room we slept called, “KADUNA
ROOM”. Still, that didn’t scare us. We ate our meal and slept off in that room till day break. On 31st August which was
the D-DAY, we all assembled in one place and later went on a prophetic match to the local chief of DOKA. The chief
(HAKIMIN DOKA) and his entourage were so pleased to have us in DOKA. He welcomed us and he gave us the go ahead
to accomplish our mission in his town, after which ZM PAPA also thank the HAKIMI and promised to help his people by
rendering humanitarian services. Papa also assured the local chief that the school NCCF Zamfara has already started
building in DOKA will soon be completed. About two hours later, the humanitarian services kick off and the dwellers
trooped out to benefit from the initiative which includes, free medical care, barbing and plating of hair, distribution of
clothes etc.; all these was done because NCCF ZAMFARA saw a need in DOKA.
The exercise was rounded off that day and we all left DOKA on the 1st day of September, 2012 to our respective zones.
But there is something I wouldn’t like to forget as part of my experience during the Rural Rugged… I trekked from DOKA
to a town called MADA, for 3 hours! On a normal day, I won’t have trekked because of my health condition, but God gave
me an unusual strength that day. Praise GOD!

Funny Friends......

Funny Friends......
They call you only when they need assistance
They visit you only when you have something to offer them
They insult you the moment you said you dont have
even after helping them many times without complain
They go around saying all sort of things about you
And when you give deaf ear to thier insults
They still come back to you saying what others said about you
Forgetting the fact that gossip is a two way affairs
You give what you have and they give you what they have on same topic
Friends.....? they are funny

POLITICS AND CHRISTIANITY

POLITICS AND CHRISTIANITY
While I was growing up as a teenager
I was told that politics is a dirty game and
I ignorantly believed the assertion because
Of the moral decay in our political system in Nigeria and
These I know that a lot of Christians are still suffering
From the same belief
Some denominations are even confused on the method
To apply in reversing thier negative teachings on politics
But the question is:
If politics is truly a dirty game, why are our pastors
Preaching to us on the need to vote
For credible candidates during election
To follow the crowd in the voting processes
Or to fulfill all righteousness
Until we see politics as a responsibility instead of game
We will continue to be slaves in our own country
Some of you may asked
What do I mean by slavery in this context
Slavery is the punishment you received
After giving out your political power to your enemy
This can be seen in some part of Nigeria
Nowander a fifteen year old girl was abducted,
Her religion changed and was later forced
To marry a man older than her father
Her poor parents were also pushed to
The valley of pain and agony
Because some evil men used religion and
And political power to perpetrate their evil
My bible tells me that people rejoice when
The righeous rules and that makes me believed
That it is not a sin for a believer to venture into politics
In fact it is the will of God
Because if the righeous rules
You will not pay a dime to be employed
If the righeous rules
You will not exchange sex for favour
If the righeous rules
Your right will not be deprived by anyone
If the righeous rules
God is always glorified in them
But when the wicked rules people groan
They groan because of nepotism
They groan because of corruption
They groan because of poverty
They groan because of injustice
I encourage christian at this juncture
To rise to thier responsibilities in other to
Take what belongs to the church
So that the next generation will not
Suffer what we are suffering today .
Thanks and God bless you

Those who put their trust in men can never  escape disappointment.

Quote on storms

Storms are mere obstacles that could be  found on your way to the place of divine encounter.

YOU NEED FAITH

You don't need money to have faith
You don't need children to have faith
You don't need job to have faith
You don't need healing to have faith
You don't need mansions to have faith
You don't need a good wife to have faith
You don't need a car to have faith
You don't need bread to have faith
But you need FAITH to have ALL.

Quote on Poverty

Poverty is not the absence of God in the midst of financial difficulties but the absence of faith in the midst of abundance.

Children are God's blessing

Children are God's blessing to us as parents but once this same children lack parental care they become a reproach not just to the family but the entire body of Christ.

TRAIN UP A CHILD.....

TRAIN UP A CHILD...
Children are God's blessing to us as parents but once this same children lack parental care they become a reproach not just to the family but the entire body of Christ.
Train up a child in a way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it-Prov.22:6
Your responsibilities as Christian parents is not just to provide food and shelter to your children but to also train them in a godly way and correcting them when necessary.
Parents must also live a good life before desiring their children to do better than them because he who teach must be more knowledgeable than his students. If you don't want your child to smoke cigarette then don't smoke, if you want him to respect people you too must lead by example, Or if I may asked, what legacy are you laying for your children as parents ? do you have time for them? Do you teach them how to respect people? and when last did you even pray as a family? If you are not taking a proper step in building your home I wonder the kind of character your children will exibit when they advance to another phase of life. " Better is a man that has no child than the father that doesn't share his time with his children; time to study the bible, time to pray, and time to plan for a better tomorrow" .
Monitor their activities: the movies they watch, the books they read, the cloth they put on,  the places they visit and the friends they hang around with and If you discover any negative behavior in your child, then it should be a time for you to bring him to God rather than crying or cursing your child. Always use the bible in counseling him, don't be furious in your approach.
Before you take such steps in bringing a lasting change to your son's situation, I will like to share with you the story of a  boy that raped an innocent girl of four; it's  a pathetic story but there are lessons to learn I believe you will learn a lesson in it.
This boy misbehaved under the influence of his evil brothers that were so addicted to pornography videos . The boy usually watched together with his brothers whenever their parents aren't home. So, one day he decided to practice that evil he learned in those pornography videos and that was how the innocent girl was abused. Can you see the devil's operation in homes that lack parental presence? What will it profit you when you become so busy about the things of this world and leave your children in a state of
jeopardy?
Time is precious in every christian family. As a mother, you need to have time with your children. Teach them how to cook, if possible let there be division of labour among them. Let the first daughter be in kitchen with you( mother), let the male child wash his father's clothes, let others clean up the house. This is not punishment but a training that will bring change and respect to them in future becouse sooner or later they will be parents to their own children.
Finally, let there be a good relationship between parents and their children. Let the children also obey their parents so that they may live long.

JUST OBEY GOD

God is so delighted in those that keep His commandments
His love for them can't be quantify even for a second
In their sad moments, He comfort them with laughter
He strenghtens them in terms of weaknes
He turn their murning in to dancing
The righeous are uplifted becouse of their art of humility
Their cups never lark oil
When your freind is saying " can I make it in life?"
The Lord is working out things for you
When others are trusting in horses and chariots
We can only trust in God
When your freinds are saying"Who can save us from our enemies?"
The righeous is saying"the battle is of the Lord
When sickness and disease seem to weigh you down
God's power of healing is always there for you
When wishes and wizards gang up againts you
Jesus  is your everlasting shield
Just obey God and experience a stress-free life

QUOTE ON INTEGRITY

I prefer to be true to myself, even at the hazard of incurring the ridicule of others, rather than to be

HIV/AIDS IS NOT THE END OF LIFE

HIV/AIDS IS NOT THE END OF LIFE

Been hiv/aids positive is not the end of life
You are even lucky to have known your status
And those who are negative are not better than you
As long as both of you are alive
You are all equal before God
He sees you as His own child
And he has a better plan for you
Don't cry over stigmatization
Always tell yourself my life is in God's hands
So nothing to worry about
Don't  spread the virus out of anger
But spread the news in other to save others
Be positive to yourself always
And live as if you will not die then
You will fulfill destiny irrespective of your hiv/aids status

I write this to encourage people living with hiv/AIDS and to those that are negative stand strong  and show love to those who are positive around you,  remember that we are not better than them. thanks and God bless you . VOTAPWA ELKANAH

ANOTHER BLOODY NIGHT

Another bloody night
in the the savanna belt
just like the one of last year
when Fulani herdsmen came in hundreds
killing many and setting the entire village ablaze
only those that narrowly escaped can give
detail of the ugly experience
today is another commercial  town
with high population density
peaceful they live as one
not minding their religious differences
but politics has interrupted their peace
there by bringing violence to their door posts
as if that is the solution to African problems
even the WHITES that colonized us
did not kill the blacks the way
Africans kill their fellow brothers
young and energetic youths
with guns and swords
shooting and slaughtering their fellow blacks
like animals in the hands of hunters
it was more of a genocide than violence
military that came to protect
the lives and properties of the citizenry
were overpowered by insurgence
some dwellers ran for their lives
but the unlucky ones were abducted
and their religion chnaged
only God can bring back the peace of Africa
